The Garden Of Five Senses – Paradise for Nature Lover/Mercy Roy
CommonWealth Games is one of the biggest ever multi-sports event not only in India but in Asia as a whole.According to the officials evaluations, 2 million foreign tourists and 3.5 million domestic tourists are likely to arrive in 2010 because of the games. Among all the wonderfull tourists destinations – “ the garden of five senses ”cannot be left out.
The Garden of Five Senses is truely a paradise for nature lover as it serves all the possible senses of human being, one can see, hear, smell, touch and taste the nature around one self. The garden is located at Said-ul-Aizad village, close to the Mehrauli heritage area in New Delhi ( and its very nearby to Qutub Minar ).
The garden has many unique features which makes it different from other parks. It is an intricate blend of natures bounty and subtle human creation. Among the main attractions are the Khas Bhag – designed on the pattern of the mughal gardens with modern canals, shrubs and water bodies to bisect the medians, the Neel Bagh – a pool of water lilies covered with a dome like structured and has different aquatic structures. Further attractions are the color gardens and court of specimen plants and the numerous wind chimes add to the ambience of the surrounding. One also cannot miss out the twenty five different sculptures and murals by the popular craftsmen.
