Asian Closed Junior Tennis Championship semifinal

Sixth seed Indian Vaidik Munshaw’s campaign came to an end in the semi-final of the boys’ singles of the Asian Junior Tennis Championships with a straight sets defeat to second seed Bowen Ouyang of China at the RK Khanna Tennis Complex on Saturday.
In the other semi-final, boys’ top seed Chuhan Wang, also of China, sailed into the final of the competition with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Thailand’s Warit Sornbutnark (No. 8). The victory meant the boys’ singles final will be an all-Chinese affair and between the top two seeds in the tournament.

There was more disappointment for India in the girls’ singles semi-final with seventh seed Rishika Sunkara going down to her ninth seeded opponent, Miho Kowase of Japan 3-6, 3-6. Kowase will now take on second seed Ran Tian of China in the final of the girls’ event.
