Indian paddlers shine in Indian Open Pro Tour Table Tennis Tournament

Abishek Ravichandran, Anirban Nandi, Sharath Kamal Achanta, Sanil Shetty, Subhajit Saha, Amalraj and Sourav Chakraborty will represent India in the Men's Singles category in the main draw of the Indian Open Pro Tour Table Tennis Tournament being played at the Yamuna Sports Complex in Delhi. Madhurika Patkar, Mouma Das, Pooja Sahastrabudhe and Nandita Saha will represent India in the Women's Singles Category in the main draw.
32 players will now enter the main draw in the men's and women's categories to be played tomorrow i.e. Friday, June 18, 2010. The matches will begin at 10 am.
Indian paddlers also tasted success in the Under-21 qualification rounds with Soumyajit Ghosh, Sanil Shetty, Harmeet Desai and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran earning qualification in the boys’ singles, while Ankita Das and Pooja Sahasrabudhe moved into the round of 16 in the girls’ singles.
In the men’s doubles, Anirban Nandi and Sanil Shetty, Jubin Kumar and Soumyadeep Roy, Sharath Kamal Achanta and Subhajit Saha, and Harmeet Desai and Devesh Karia will compete in the round of 16. There were no qualification matches in the women’s doubles and the event will start with the round of 16.
