वाडा यानी विश्व एंटी डोपिंग एजेन्सी के स्पष्ट निर्देष हैं कि वाडा की गाईडलाईन्स को सभी भारतीय भाषाओं में उपलबध होना चाहिये|किंतु डोपिंग पर सभी भारतीय भाषाओं की तो बात छोड़ दे,किंतु संविधान की राजभाषा हिंदी में भी सामग्री भारतीय ओलंपिक संघ ने राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों के लिये उपलब्ध नहीं करायी है|इस ब्लॉग पर पहली बार डोपिंग के मूलभूत अर्थ को न केवल समझाने का बल्कि वाडा के निर्देषों का भी उल्लेख किया जा रहा है|

आज हर खिलाड़ी आकाश की उन बुलंदियों को छूना चाहता है जहां उससे पहले कोई गया ना हो, इसी कशमकश में वह कोई भी तरीका अपनाने के लिये तैयार हो जाता है चाहे वह जायज़ या नाजायज़, वैध या अवैध वह छोटे से छोटे रास्ते से अपनी मंजिल तक पहुँचना चाहता है और पदक जीतने की लालसा उसे प्रतिबंधित दवाओं की ओर अग्रसर करती हैं । डोंपिग का इतिहास बहुत पुराना है। तीसरी शताब्दी बी.सी में ग्रीक चिकित्सक गैलेन के अनुसार प्राचीन ग्रीक खिलाड़ी अपने प्रदर्शन को बढ़ाने के लिये स्टिमुलैन्ट (उत्तेजक) दवाओं का प्रयोग करते थें। खेल जगत में दवाओं के प्रयोग का सबसे सनसनीखेज हादसा हुआ 1988 के सिओल ओलंपिक के दौरान जब कनाडा के तेज धावक बैन जॉन्सन ने 100 मीटर दौड़ का अपना ही वि’व रिकार्ड तोड़ दिया। उसने 100 मीटर की दूरी 9.79 सैकन्ड में पूरी की। बैन जॉन्सन को एनाबॉलिक स्टीरोयड (स्टैनोजेलोल) को प्रयोग करने के अपराध में न केवल अपने स्वर्ण पदक से हाथ धोना पड़ा बल्कि पूरी दुनिया में न जॉन्सन अपनी फर्राटा दौड़ की वजह से कम और बल्कि दवाओं के अनुचित प्रयोग की वजह से ज़्यादा चर्चित हो गए ! इस हादसे से पूरी दुनिया के खेल जगत में एक तहलका मच गया ! बैन जॉन्सन पर दो वर्ष का प्रतिबंध लगाया गया। दूसरी बार फिर 1993 में बैन जॉन्सन ऐनाबोलिक स्टीरोयड (टैस्टोस्टीरोन) के सेवन का दोषी पाया गया और उन पर आजीवन प्रतिबंध लगाया गया। 1990 के राष्ट्रमंडल खेल ऑकलैंड न्यूजीलैंड में भरतीय भारत्तोलक सुब्रतो पाल को ऐनाबोलिक स्टीरोयड के सेवन के लिए दोषी पाया गया । खेल जगत में इस प्रकार के हादसे शायद चलते ही रहेंगे !

आज सर्वप्रथम आवश्यक है कि हमारे खिलाड़ियों, प्रशिक्षकों व खेल अधिकारियों को खेल में प्रतिबंधित दवाओं की पूर्ण सूची, उनके प्रभाव व दुष्प्रभाव की जानकारी हो। इन्हीं सब चीजों को नज़र में रखते हुए 1961 के टोक्यो ओलंपिक के दौरान खेल अधिकारियों ने विशेष रूप से यह महसूस किया कि खेल खेल भावना से, ईमानदारी से और बिना दवाओं के प्रयोग के खेले जाने चाहिए तभी अंतर्राष्ट्रीय ओलंपिक संघ ने खेल में प्रतिबंधित दवाओं की सूची जारी करनी शुरू की
करीब हर वर्ष अब उसमें 2-3 दवायें बढ़ा दी जाती है । देखना यह है कि क्या अंतर्राष्ट्रीय ओलंपिक संघ के अथक प्रयास इस दिशा में कुछ कर सकेंगे ।

डोपिंग की परिभाषा

खेल जगत में अनेक वर्षों से चली आ रही बेईमानी, जिसे नियंत्रण करना असंभव सा प्रतीत होता है, जो न किसी रैफरी, अम्पायर या जज को दिखाई देती है|
यह बेईमानी से शरीर के अन्दर की जाती है और आज इसे डोपिंग की संज्ञा दी जाती है । किसी भी प्राकृतिक या अप्राकृतिक पदार्थ को शरीर में लिया जाना और किसी भी रास्ते से जैसे मुंह से, इंजैक्शन से, नस से, फेफड़ों में सूँघकर या गुदा द्वारा अपने प्रदर्शन को बढ़ाने की मुख्य इच्छा से, बिना किसी इलाज के इरादे से उसे डोपिंग का नाम दिया जाता है और जब एथलीट को दवा परीक्षण किया जाता है तब उन्हें पेशाब का नमूना देने के लिये कहा जाता है। अत्यंत आधुनिक तकनीकों को प्रयोग कर उस पेशाब के नमूने में से खिलाड़ियों द्वारा प्रयोग की गई दवाओं का विश्लेषण किया जाता है । डोपिंग की इस परिभाषा को प्रयोग में लाने के लिए विश्व एंटी डोपिंग एजेन्सी ने कुछ प्रतिबंधित दवाओं की सूची जारी की है और समय समय पर कुछ दवाओं को बढ़ाने का निर्णय भी लिया जाता है ।

एस-1- ऐनाबोलिक ऐजेन्स्ट्स- यह पुरूषों में प्राकृतिक रूप में पाया जाने वाला हॉरमोन टैस्टोस्टीरोन एंव उसके डेरीवेटिव हैं
ये गोलियॉं, इंजैक्शन, डरमल पैच के रूप में उपलब्ध है
मुख्य उदाहरण- टैस्ओस्टीरोन, नैन्ड्रोलोन, मिथाइल टैस्टोस्टीरोन स्टेनोज़ोलोल वगैरह ऐनाबोलिक स्टीरोयड मॉंसपेशियों को बनाते हैं और कैटाबोलिक प्रभाव को कम करते है

इन दवाओं के सेवन से पुरूषों में दुष्परिणाम आने लगते है जैसे- शुक्राणुओ की मात्रा में कमी, नामर्दगी, स्तनों का आकार बड़ा होना, पेशाब करने में दर्द या परेशानी, समय से पहले गंजा होना, प्रोस्टेट ग्रंथि का बड़ा होना एंव सूजन ।

महिलाओं में दुष्परिणाम- पुरूषों जैसे फीचर्स आ जाना, मॅंह पर बालों का उग आना, आवाज़ का भारी होना, स्तनों का आकार छोटा होना, मुँह पर मुहांसे, मासिक धर्म में अनियमितता वगैरह ।

बीटा-2 ऐगोनिस्ट-ये सभी प्रतिबंधित हैं
केवल साल्ब्यूटामॉल अधिकतम स्तर 1600 माइक्रोग्राम@एम एल 24 घंटे में एंव सूँघने द्वारा साल्मीटरोल । इनके प्रयोग के लिये टी.यू.ई. नामक सर्टिफिकेट की आवश्यकता होती है ।

उदाहरण- बैक्यूडिल, बीराडे, फोमटाज़, ऐस्थेलिन, ब्रिकानिल सूंघने के तरीके (इन्हेलर या नेबूलाईज़र) के ज़रिये से साल्ब्यूटामोल की इज़ाज़त है बशर्ते स्तर 1000 नैनोग्राम प्रति मिली. से ज़्यादा न हो ।

डाइयूरेटिक्स - यह दवाएं शरीर से अधिक एकत्रित पानी को निकालने के काम आती है और कुछ स्थितियों जैसे उच्च रक्त चाप के इलाज में प्रयोग होती है । खिलाड़ी इस दवा का सेवन अपना वज़न कम करने के लिये उन खेलों में जहॉं वज़न कैटेगरी हो और दवाओं की मिकदार को कम करने के लिये । मुख्यतः इसे बॉक्सर, कुश्ती बाज, भारोत्तोलक प्रयोग करते है ।

मुख्य उदाहरण - एमीलोराइड, ब्यूमैटानाइड, हाइड्रोक्लोरथाइज़ाइड, फ्रसामाइड वगैरह

2003 क्रिकेट विश्व कप के दौरान आस्ट्रेलियाई स्पिन गेंदबाज़ शेन वॉर्न एमीलोरोइड नामक डाइयूरेटिक के सेवन के दोषी पाये गये थे ।
स्टिमुलैन्ट्स - यह वह दवाऐं है जो थकान दूर करती हैं और प्रतिद्वदिता बढ़ाती है, व्यक्ति को चुस्त करने में मदद करती है, इन दवाओं के सेवन से चिन्ता, कंपन, दिल की गति को बढ़ना, रक्त चाप का बढ़ना, फालिस वगैरह देखे जाते है ।

विश्व एंटी डोपिंग एजेन्सी ने वर्ष 2010 की सूची में एक स्टिमुलैट को सूची में बढ़ाया है जो है मिथाइल हैकसानामिन यह नॉनस्पेसिफिक स्टिमुलैन्ट 2009 तक प्रतिबंधित सूची में नहीं था। यह खिलाड़ी नाक में डालने के लिये प्रयोग करते थे न्यूजीलैंड में यह पार्टी पिल के रूप में प्रयोग होती थी। यह डायटरी सप्लीमैंट के रूप में प्रयोग होती है जिसे एक्स-फोर्स या नॉक्सपंप के नाम से अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मार्किट में उपलब्ध है । फ्लोरड्रीन के नाम से भी यह उपलब्ध है । यह भी कहा जाता है कि जेरेनियम नामक तेल में यह दवा पाई जाती है और इस तेल का प्रयोग कुछ पुडिंग, सॉस वगैरह में भी किया जाता है यहॉं तक कि फेस पैक में भी जेरेनियम तेल की मात्रा देखी जाती है ।

वर्ष 2011 से मिथाइल हैक्सानामिन को स्पैस्किसाइड स्टिमुलेन्ट्स की सूची में डाल दिया गया है ।

मुख्य उदाहरण-

स्टिमुलैट्स - ब्रोमेन्टन, फैन्केमिन, मिसोकार्ब, एडरीनेलिन, कैथिन, एकीड्रिन, स्यूडोएफीड्रिन

एफीड्रिन तभी प्रतिबंधित है जब पेशाब में उसकी मात्रा 10 माइकोग्राम@मिली. से अधिक हो ।

स्यूडोएकीड्रिन तभी प्रतिबंधित है जब उसकी मात्रा 150 मिग्रा@मिली से अधिक हो ।

नारकोटिक्स (दर्द नाशक दवायें) नारकोटिक्स ग्रुप में ’शक्तिशाली दर्दनाक दवाएं आती हैं, हालांकि ये दवाएं खिलाड़ी का प्रदर्शन नहीं सुधारती है। लेकिन चूंकि प्रतियोगिता का इतना दबाव खिलाड़ी पर होता है कि चोटग्रस्त होने के बावजूद वह इन दवाओं का सहारा लेकर खेलता रहता है जिससे उसकी चोट और गंभीर हो सकती है और उसे पता भी नहीं लगता ।

नारकोटिक्स दवाओं को दुष्प्रभाव

- मितली आना, उल्टी, चक्कर, खारिश, कब्ज़

- दौरे, गफलत, धुंधलाहट, पार्किन्सन रोग

कुछ प्रतिबंधित नारकोटिक्स

- ब्यूपरिनोरीफन, डैक्स्ट्रोमोरामाइड, मॉरफिन, पैथीडिन, पैन्टाजोसिन, ऑक्सीकोडोन, फैन्टेनिल वगैरह

नोट - कोडीन, डेक्स्ट्रोमिथोरफैन, ट्रेमेडोल, फोलकोडिन, प्रोपोक्सीफैन, इथाइलमॉरफिन, डैक्स्ट्रोप्रोपोक्सीफैन, डाइहाइड्रोकोडीन, डाईफिनोक्सीलेट प्रतिबंधित सूची में नहीं है ।

ग्लूकोकोर्टिकोस्टीसेयड्स - यह सूजन को कम करने वाली दवायें हैं । सभी ग्लूकोकोर्टिकोस्टीसेयड्स मुँह के द्वारा, नस में इंजैक्शन द्वारा, इन्ट्रामसकुलर इंजैक्शन द्वारा व गुदा द्वार द्वारा प्रयोग पर प्रतिबंध है । यह दवाएं नाक में, ऑंख में, मसूडों पर डाली जा सकती है और प्रतिबंधित नही है (लोकल एप्लीकेशन) यदि खिलाड़ी इन दवाओं को इन्ट्राआरटिकुलर, एपीडयूरेल, इन्ट्राडरमल या इनहेलेशन के तरीके से ले, तब टी.यू.ई. नामक सर्टिफिकेट की आवश्यकता होती है

सामान्यतयः निम्नलिखित ग्लूकोकोर्टिको स्टीसेयड प्रतिबंधित सूची में आते है

- बैकलोमीथासोन

- बीटामीथासोन

- ब्यूडीसोनाइड

- डेसोनाइड

- डेक्सामीथासोन

- फ्लूडरोकोर्टिसोन

- फ्लूमीथासोन, फ्लूनीसोलाइड, मिथाइल प्रेडनीसोलोन, प्रेडनीसोलोन, प्रेडनीसोलोन, ट्रायमसिनोलोन

स्टीरोयड प्रिपारेशन्स को मुँह में, त्वचा पर, कान मे, नाक में, ऑंख में लगया जा सकता है और उस पर प्रतिबंध नहीं है,

कुछ विशेष परिस्थितियों में प्रतिबंधित दवायें (पदार्थ)

पी-1 शराब (एल्कोहल)- यह प्रतियोगिता के दौरान ही सिर्फ प्रतिबंधित है और वह भी केवल निम्नलिखित खेलों में एरोनोटिक्स, तीरंदा़जी, आटोमोबाइल, कराटे, मॉडर्न पैन्टाथालॉन, मोटर साइकिलिंग, नाइनपिन एंव टैन पिन बॉउलिंग, पॉवरबोटिंग

डॉपिंग वायेलेशन तभी समझा जायेगा जब रक्त में ’शराब की मात्रा 0.10 ग्राम प्रति मि.ली. से अधिक पायी जायेगी ।

सामान्यतयः शराब के सेवन से खेल प्रदर्शन में सुधार नहीं समझा जाता है । शराब के सेवन से एनऐरोबिक शक्ति प्रभावित होती है जबकि ऐरोबिक क्षमता, अधिकतम ऑक्सीजन लेने व ऑक्सीजन के प्रयोग पर कोई प्रभाव नहीं पड़ता ।

पी-2 बीटा ब्लाकर्स - बीटा ब्लाकर्स भी आज खेल में खिलाड़ियों द्वारा दुरूपयोग किये जाने वाला रोचक गु्रप है ये दवायें सामान्यतयः तीरंदाजी, निशानेबाज़ी, जिम्नास्टिक्स, गोल्फ, ब्रिज, बिलियर्ड, एंव स्नूकर, कुश्ती, सेलिंग, मॉडर्न पैन्टाथेलॉन, स्किंग, मोटरसाइकिलिंग वगैरह में प्रतिबंधित है। ये दवाएं सामान्यतयः दिल की गति को कम करती है एंव उच्च रक्तचाप को कम करती है । कुछ मुख्यः उदाहरण है

एटीनोलो, बीटाक्सेलोल, बाइसोप्रोलोल, कार्विडोलो, मेटाप्रोबोल, नेडोलोता, आंसप्रेनीलो, प्रोप्रेनोलोल, पिन्डोलोल, सेटेलोल, टाइमोलोल एंव संबंधित पदार्थ ।

आज के इस बदलते दौर में खिलाड़ी आर्युर्वेदिक (हर्बल) खुराक पदार्थ के पीछे दौड़ रहे है और कई बार जाने अनजाने में डोप में फंस जाते है । इसका जीता जागता उदाहरण है भारोत्तोलक कुजरानी देवी जो बीटा-एक्स गोल्ड नामक पदार्थ के सेवन में पकड़ी गयी जिसमें कूचिला नामक स्टिमुलैंट है और वह अंग्रेज़ी में स्ट्रिकनिन के नाम से जाना जाता है और स्ट्रिकनिन प्रतिबंधित है । आज आवश्यकता है कि खिलाड़ियों को उचित जानकारी से अवगत कराया जाये । प्रतिबंधित दवाओं की सूची प्रत्येक खिलाड़ी को दी जाये तभी खिलाड़ी खुद डोपिंग के दलदल में नहीं फसेंगा ।

नाडा (नेशनल एंटी डोपिंग एजेन्सी) को अधिक सकारात्मक रूख अपनाना होगा खिलाड़ियों को प्रतिबंधित व परमिसिबल दवाओं की सूची से अवगत कराना होगा। खेल वैज्ञानिकों की मौजूदगी व उनकी सहायता ही पदक के करीब पहुँचा सकती है । भारत में अब नेशनल डोप टैस्टिंग प्रयोगशाला उपलब्ध है जो नाडा (विश्व एंटी डोपिंग एजेन्सी) से मान्यता प्राप्त है और यह सभी आधुनिकतम उपकरणों से लैस है । हाल ही में सिंगापुर में सम्पन्न युवा ओलंपिक खेलों की टैस्टिंग भी दिल्ली की इस प्रयोगशाला ने की है और राष्ट्र मंडल खेलों की टैस्टिंग भी इसी प्रयोगशाला में होगी ।

यदि कोई खिलाड़ी अथक परिश्रम, उचित खुराक व खेल विज्ञान की मदद नहीं लेकर दवाओं के चक्कर में आकर डोप लेगा तो निश्चित ही वह पकड़ा जायेगा, इससे न केवल उसका नाम बल्कि देश की प्रतिष्ठा पर भी ऑंच आती है । अवैध तरीके छोड़कर ईमानदारी से पदक के दावेदार बनें ।

Winning in sports at all costs does not permit the philosophy of

sports to degenerate merely into a competition amongst
laboratories, scientists and athletes. Drugs spectre in sports
though has become widespread but it threatens the safety, health
and longevity of athletes while perverting the original intent of
sports.

To promote the true ethics of sports the first ever mini directory
on drug in sports was published in 1994 which had got
tremendous acclaim not only from Indian sportsmen but from
international sports fraternity as well as the Indian press.
6 Edition was brought out in 2005. This 8 Edition brings to
you the latest list of banned and permissible drugs with Indian
examples as well as the effects and side effects of banned drugs
in brief. The directory also contains the generic names of all
permissible drugs. As the quest for sports excellence in the
world has become a slogan of the present century. It is expected
that goal of achieving enough literacy on drugs and sports shall
be sufficiently met with by this ready reckoner by sports
fraternity.

Drugs used in sports which were earlier being looked after by

IOC now comes under the domain of WADA (World Anti Doping Agency). Excepting these

substances for which a quantitative reporting threshold is
specifically identified in the prohibited list, the detected
presence of any quantity of a prohibited substance or its
metabolites or markers in anAthlete's sample shall constitute an
anti doping rule violation.

In 1998, Kuala Lumpur was the first Asian city to host the Games. In 16^th Commonwealth Games 1998, five new sports – Cricket, Hockey, Squash, Rugby and Netball were including in the competition programme for the first time. Jaspal Rana continued to impress in Shooting.

won 7 gold, 10 silver and 8 bronze medals and occupied the seventh position in the medals table. The Indian Shooters and weightlifters continued to win the laurels for the country. The weightlifter won 3 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze medals, while shooter won 4 gold, 2 silver and a bronze medals. किसी भी खेल आयोजन और प्रबंधन में पदक की डिजायन,रूप-रंग तय करना अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण होता है|राष्ट्रमंडल खेलो के लिए 1408 पदक बनाए जा रहे है जहाँ प्रत्येक स्वर्ण पदक की लागत 5539 रु आयी है वहीं रजत पदक 4818 और कांस्य पदक की प्रति पदक लागत 4529 रु आयी है|
अगर पूरे पदकों की बात की जाए तो उनकी डोरी और बक्सों सहित 8108566 रु. की लागत आई है|

पदक के आगे की तरफ भारतीय राष्ट्रमंडल के चिन्ह की आकृति उभरी हुई है जैसे सूर्य के तेज़ को उसमे समाहित कर दिया गया हो|वहीं पीछे की तरफ अंतर्राष्ट्रीय राष्ट्रमंडल संघ के प्रतीक को उकेरा गया है|पदक का व्यास 63.5 मिली मीटर और उसकी मोटाई 6 मिली मीटर है|
पदक को गले से लटकाने वाली डोरी में 6 रंगों का समावेश किया गया है जिनमें गुलाबी,बैंगनी,हरा, लाल,पीला और नीले रंग शामिल हैं|इन रंगों के कारण पूरे पदक की आभा अत्यंत उर्जामान लगती है जोकि खेलों की ऊर्जा के अनुरूप ही है|
अंत में मै अपने खिलाडियों से कहना चाहूँगा कि इन पदको को बनाने में अच्छी खासी लागत आई है तो ज्यादा से ज्यादा पदक जीतो क्योंकि घर का माल घर में ही रहे तो अच्छा है

Child sensation Ved Prakash, a prodigy of Guru Hanuman of Delhi, won a gold medal in the lightweight class (under 48 kg) category. He was the youngest to win a gold in Commonwealth Games. India’s participation in the earlier Games was merely symbolic. India’s true operation in the British Empire and Commonwealth Games began from the Cardiff Games 1958. The Australian superiority in pool was complete, with 17 of the 27 titles, including all five relays-four with new world records. India returned strongly to the Kingston (Jamaica). Indian wrestlers have registered themselves into the record books of the Commonwealth Games in a big way. At Kingston in 1966, they won three gold, four silver and three bronze medals. The most of these medals were won by wrestlers who had a rich haul of 3 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals. The gold medal winners were Bishamber Singh (Bantamweight – 57 kg), Mukhtiar Singh (Lightweight – 68 kg) and Bhim Singh (Heavyweight – 100 kg). During the Games, the organizers decided that a title should be changed from the British Empire and Commonwealth Games to the ‘British Commonwealth Games.

The Commonwealth Games, like the Olympic Games have suffered from the effects of world politics. Black African Commonwealth countries have boycotted the games several occasions in protest against other Commonwealth countries having sporting links with South Africa. Between 1930 and 1958, white South Africans won 190 medals (72 gold, 60 silver and 58 bronzes) in the British Empire and Commonwealth Games. The games have suffered from boycotts, especially that of 1986, but these have never been on the scale of those that have affected the Olympics.

The Games are held every four years midway between the Olympic Games with competing nations being part of the British Commonwealth. It is often referred to as the “Friendly Games.” Only six teams have attended every Commonwealth Games: Australia, Canada, England, New Zealand, Scotland and Wales. There are 53 Commonwealth countries represented by 71 Commonwealth Games Association (CGA) that can enter a team in the Commonwealth Games because some Commonwealth countries have more than one CGA. Although the United Kingdom is one member of the Commonwealth, the seven CGA’s namely, England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey compete separately in the Commonwealth Games. नयी दिल्ली। दक्षिण अफ्रीका में संपन्न फुटबाल विश्व कप के चर्चित कानफोडू बाजे (वुवुजेला) की तर्ज पर 19वें राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों की आयोजन समिति ने इसे खेलों के दौरान दर्शकों के लिए उपलब्ध कराने की घोषणा भले कर दी हो, लेकिन खेल परिसरों के अंदर इसके इस्तेमाल पर अभी संशय बरकरार है और समिति के कई अधिकारियों को भी यह भा नहीं रहा है।
समिति के संयुक्त महानिक समेर ढिल्लन ने आज संवाददाताओं से कहा, ‘इस बारे में दिल्ली पुलिस से बात चल रही है लेकिन मुझे ऐसा लगता है कि वुवुजेला खिलाडियों के लिए परेशानी बनता है।’ हालांकि उन्होंने स्पष्ट किया कि इसके बारे में अंतिम फैसला अभी नहीं किया जा सका है।
इससे पहले समिति के कार्यकारी बोर्ड के सदस्य और भारतीय ओलंपिक संघ (आईओए) के वरिष्ठ उपाध्यक्ष विजय कुमार मल्होत्रा ने आश्चर्य जताते हुए कहा था कि वुवुजेला को खेलों के दौरान स्टेडियमों के ले जाने की इजाजत कैसे मिल सकती है।मल्होत्रा ने कहा, ‘फुटबाल विश्व कप में वुवुजेला का इस्तेमाल किया गया था। हो सकता है यह दक्षिण अफ्रीकी संस्कृति का हिस्सा हो। लेकिन हमारे देश के लिए यह सही नहीं है।’

उन्होंने कहा, ‘वुवुजेला से खिलाड़ियों का ध्यान बंटता है और इसका असर हमारे खिलाड़ियों पर भी पड़ सकता है। स्टेडियमों में खिलाड़ियों और दर्शकों का हौसला बढ़ाने के लिए हमारे यहां ढोल तथा अन्य वाद्ययंत्रों के इस्तेमाल की परंपरा है। हमें अपने खेल आयोजन के लिए किसी विदेशी बाजे की जरूरत नहीं है।’
उल्लेखनीय है कि आयोजन समिति ने हाल ही में खेलों के लिए मर्चेन्डाइज लांच के मौके पर वुवुजेला के अनावरण के साथ कहा था कि यह दर्शकों के लिए उनके जोश के इजहार का सशक्त माध्यम होगा। हालांकि इस घोषणा के साथ ही सवाल उठा था कि क्या खेल परिसरों के अंदर इन्हें ले जाने की इजाजत होगी।हालांकि लांचिंग के बावजूद वुवुजेला समेज कई सामग्री अब भी मर्चेंडाइज केंद्रों पर उपलब्ध नहीं हो पायी है। द्विवेदी ने बताया कि दर्शकों की सुविधा के लिए त्रिस्तरीय प्रबंधन व्यवस्था की गयी है। पहले चरण में गेट प्रबंधन है जिसके तहत दल के सदस्य मुख्य प्रवेश द्वार पर दर्शकों से मिलकर उन्हें उनके गंतव्य और प्रवेश के रास्तों की पूरी जानकारी देंगे।
यहां पर पहले मुख्य द्वारों पर टिकट की मैन्युअल चेकिंग होगी। फिर इसके बाद कम्प्यूटर से बारकोड जांच के जरिए उनकी जांच की जाएगी। टिकटों के पीछे यह उल्लेख किया होगा कि कौन सी चीजें स्टेडियम में ले जायी जा सकती हैं और कौन सी नहीं। अवांछित वस्तुओं को दर्शक अपने जोखिम पर बाहर छोड सकेंगे।

दूसरे स्तर पर दर्शक प्लाजा का प्रबंधन होगा। इस क्षेत्र में दर्शकों की खान-पान व्यवस्था और मर्चेंडाइज सुविधाएं उपलब्ध होंगी। हर खेल परिसर में एक विशेष टिकट बूथ बनाया गया है जो खेलों के शुरू होने और टिकट उपलब्ध होने तक कार्यरत रहेंगे।
तीसरे स्तर पर दर्शक दीर्घा का प्रबंधन है, जिसमें दर्शकों के बैठने, विकलांग और वरिष्ठ नागरिकों की विशेष सहायता आदि शामिल है। दर्शक दीर्घा में बैठने और खिलाडियों की हौसला अफजाई आदि के बारे में दिल्ली पुलिस ने विशेष दिशा निर्देश जारी किये हैं जो टिकट के साथ उपलब्ध होंगे। इनका उल्लंघन करने वालों को तुरंत मैदान से बाहर भेजा जा सकता है।
दर्शकों की सुविधा के लिए खेल परिसरों में प्रवेश आयोजन के समय से पहले ही शुरू कर दिया जाएगा और उद्घाटन एवं समापन समारोह में तो लगभग चार घंटे पहले प्रवेश शुरू कर दिया जाएगा।

Festival of Empire

The Commonwealth Games developed from the earlier Empire Games. The Empire Games were designed specifically to bring together the nations of the British Empire in a friendly competition. The British Empire Games was brainwork to be inspired by the Reverend Astley Cooper (1858-1930). In July 1891 he wrote in “Great Britain” magazine and later on October 31, 1891 in ‘The Times’ with a plan for festival “to draw closer the ties between Nations of the Empire.” Yorkshireman, the Reverend Cooper became involved in Olympic movement in Britain, but his notion generated a great deal of interest in Britain and the British Colonies. The idea took a shape when a Festival of Empire was held at the Crystal Place, London on June 24, 1911 as a part of the coronation celebrations of His Majesty King George V (1865-1936), second son of Edward VII. As part of the festival an Inter-Empire Championship was held in which teams from Australasia (Australia, New Zealand, Tasmania), Canada, South Africa, United Kingdom competed in events such as Athletics (5 events), Swimming (2 events), Boxing (1 event) and Wrestling (1 event). Canada was declared the overall winner by achieving one point more than the United Kingdom.

The Friendly Games

It was the initiative of Norton Hervey Crow which brought British Empire Games dreams to reality on September 25, 1924 at the Fort Garry Hotel in Winnipeg. N. Hervey Crow, in his concluding address to the Amateur Athletic Union after 19 years as Secretary said ‘you could consider the advisability of taking the initiative in all-British Empire Games to be held in between Olympic Games.’ On 27th September, 1924 the AAU Committee Unanimously passed crow’s idea. The first city to resolve it could handle the games and their organization was Hamilton, Ontario, then with population of some 15,5,000. Their viability study was approved. The principle was that the games were to be less rigorous — the Friendly Games was to be the motto.

In 1928, Melville Mark (Bobby) Robinson of Canada was asked to organise the first British Empire Games. The first games, called the British Empire Games took place in 1930 in Hamilton, Canada. From 1930 to 1950 (no games were held in 1942 and 1946), the games were known as the British Empire Games; from 1954 to 1962 as the British Empire and Commonwealth Games, from 1966 to 1974 as the British Commonwealth Games and since 1978 as the Commonwealth Games. History of Friendship

The Commonwealth is a unique family of 53 members which promotes respect, encourages trust and works towards economic prosperity for its members. It’s 2 billions people account for 30 per cent of the world’s population and are many languages, races, faith, traditions and cultures. At one time it was said that “The sun never sets on the British Empire”. There was a good reason for the expression, for Britain once governed one of the largest empires the world had ever known. That Empire no longer exists. Of the many lands that once made up, the old empire, most are now independent sovereign states that belong to an organization called Commonwealth of Nations. It is an association of independent countries and other political units that have lived under British law and government.

The Commonwealth evolved from United Kingdom’s imperial past, through decolonization, two world wars and change in international relations. In 1867, Canada was the first colony to get self-governing “Dominion” status, which implies equality with the UK. In 1884, British politician Lord Rosebery described the changing empire as a “Commonwealth of Nations”. Australia joined in 1900 and New Zealand (1907), South Africa (1910) and the Irish Free States (1921) followed. At the 1926 Imperial conference, the attending prime ministers adopted the Balfour Report defining Dominions as autonomous communities within the British Empire, equal in status, united by common allegiance to the crown and associated as members of the British Commonwealth of Nations.

World War-II changed the British Commonwealth’s nature. It became a multiracial association after India and Pakistan achieved independence. With India’s wish to become a republic and still remain in Commonwealth membership had to be rethought.

The modern Commonwealth was born in 1949. With the London Declaration of 1949, Commonwealth prime ministers welcomed India as Commonwealth’s first republican member. The word “British” was dropped to reflect Commonwealth’s new reality. The Commonwealth’s opposition to apartheid led to South Africa’s withdrawal in 1961. (In 1994 after the end of apartheid it rejoined the association). In 1972 Pakistan left the Commonwealth when other Commonwealth members recognised the independence of Bangladesh (formerly East Pakistan). Bangladesh was admitted as a member and Pakistan rejoined in 1989. From a club of former colonies, the Commonwealth of Nations has grown into contemporary international association in tune with times without losing its history of friendship. In 1970, Queen Elizabeth II wrote about the Commonwealth as “… rather a special family, a family of nations …”.

सरकार ने कामनवेल्थ गेम्स के बारे में कहा था कि ऐसे मौके किसी भी देश के लिए बहुत कम आते है
सरकार ने ये बात क्या सोच कर कही थी ये तो वही जाने परन्तु इन खेलो के प्रभारियों ने इस बात को गाँठ बाँध ली और इस मौके का भरपूर फायदा उठाते हुए अपनी जेबों के साथ साथ पैरो के मोजो तक को कॉमन आदमी के वेल्थ से भर लिया अर्थात ऐड़ी से चोटी तक मालामाल हो गए
सोचा कि ऐसे मौके किसी भी व्यक्ति के लिए बहुत कम आते है जब दसो उंगलियों के साथ पूरा शरीर ही घी में डूबा हो,जितना घी बटोर सकते हो बटोर लो
कहने का मतलब है तक लूट पड़े तो टूट पड़ो
बात अभी तो अधूरी है आधी लाइन जो बाकी है

अब बात करते हैं दूसरी लाइन की यानी मार पड़े तो भाग पड़ो
मार इन्हें मीडिया की तरफ से पड़ी जब इन नोट खाने वाले और देश की इज्ज़त को बिना डकार के पचाने वालों की घोटाले की गठरी मीडिया ने खोली तब उनके भागने का समय आ गया
आनन फानन में 3 - 4 अफसरों ने इस्तीफा दे दिये या ले लिये और सरकार भी जाँच के आदेश देकर शांत हो गई
इस तरह इन अफसरों ने इस कहावत को सही सिद्ध कर दिया की लूट पड़े तो टूट पड़ो मार पड़े तो भाग पड़ो

किसी भी देश की अंतरराष्ट्रीय भाषाई पहचान के लिए जरूरी है कि उसकी एक

राष्ट्रभाषा होनी चाहिए। यह भाषा ऐसी हो, जिसे सीखने, उसका साहित्य पढऩे
की ललक अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर होनी चाहिए। भारत के संदर्भ में यह
विचारणीय विषय है कि अभी तक यहां हिंदी को राष्ट्रभाषा का दर्जा नहीं मिल
सका है जबकि पूरी दुनिया में यह एक लोकप्रिय भाषा के रूप में उभरकर सामने
आई है। इसकी लिपि सर्वाधिक वैज्ञानिक है। हिंदी का साहित्य बहुत समृद्ध
है। बहुत बड़ी संख्या में हिंदी बोलने वाले लोग है। मारीशस, फिजी,
सिंगापुर, कनाडा आदि में तो हिंदी के प्रति व्यापक रुझान दिखाई देता है।

भारत में हिंदी को राजभाषा घोषित किया गया है लेकिन इसके व्यापक उपयोग को
लेकर सरकार की उदासीनता दिखाई देती है। इसका सबसे महत्वपूर्ण उदाहरण
राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों के आयोजन में हिंदी केप्रति बरती जा रही उदासीनता है।
संसद में भी राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों में हिंदी को बढ़ावा देने की मांग उठ चुकी
है लेकिन आयोजक और सरकार नहीं चेती है। राजभाषा समर्थन समिति मेरठ इस
दिशा में पहल करते हुए जनआंदोलन के तेवर अख्तियार किए हुए है लेकिन इसमें
अन्य संगठनों की भागीदारी और व्यापक जनसमर्थन की जरूरत है।
राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों में राजभाषा हिंदी को बढ़ावा देना इसलिए भी जरूरी है
कि उस दौरान कई देशों के लोग आयोजन में शामिल होंगे। उन्हें न केवल
भारतीय संस्कृति की जानकारी दी जाए बल्कि पूरी दुनिया में लोकप्रिय हो
रही राजभाषा हिंदी से भी परिचय कराया जाना चाहिए। ऐसा करके राष्ट्रीय
गौरव को बढ़ाया जा सकता है। इस सत्य से कोई इनकार नहीं कर सकता है कि देश
में हिंदी बोलने वालों की संख्या सर्वाधिक है और पूरी दुनिया में हिंदी
को लेकर व्यापक संभावनाएं परिलक्षित हो रही हैं। फिर देश के भाषाई गौरव
केशिखर पर हिंदी को प्रतिष्ठित करने में देरी क्यों? राष्ट्रमंडल खेलोंके माध्यम से हिंदी को बढ़ावा देना समय की जरूरत है। इसकेलिए राजभाषा समर्थन समिति मेरठ के सुझावों को गंभीरता से लिया जाना चाहिए।

समिति के सुझाव हैं-

1. राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों की वेबसाइट हिंदी में तुरंत बनाई जाए।

2. दिल्ली पुलिस और नई दिल्ली नगरपालिका द्वारा सभी नामपट्टों व संकेतकों

में हिंदी का भी प्रयोग हो ।

3. राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों के दौरान वितरित की जाने वाली सारी प्रचार सामगी

हिंदी में भी तैयार की जाए।

4. राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों के आंखों देखे हाल के प्रसारण की व्यवस्था हिंदी में भी हो।

5. पर्यटकों व खिलाडियों के लिए होटलों व अन्य स्थानों हिंदी की किट भी

वितरित की जाए।

6. उदघाटन व समापन समारोह भारत की संस्कृति व भाषा का प्रतिबिम्बित करते

हों। सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम देश की गरिमा के अनुरूप हों। राष्ट्रपति ,

प्रधानमंत्री व अन्य प्रमुख लोग अपनी भाषा में विचार व्यक्त करें।

7. राष्ट्रमंडल के देशों में हिंदी के प्रचार-प्रसार के लिए कार्ययोजना

तैयार की जाए।

गृहराज्यमंत्री द्वारा खेल मंत्रालय और आयोजन समिति को स्पष्ट निर्देश

27 जुलाई 2010 को अक्षरम के संयोजन में राजभाषा समर्थन समिति , मेरठ के सहयोग से दिल्ली मे हुई गोष्ठी का परिणाम सामने आ गया है । इस गोष्ठी में कई संसद सदस्यों, पत्रकारों, साहित्यकारों, खेल विशेषज्ञों ने शिरकत की थी। उपस्थित जन समुदाय को सांसद कलराज मिश्रा, हुक्म देव नारायण यादव,
प्रदीप टमटा और राजेन्द्र अग्रवाल तथा केन्द्रीय हिंदी समिति के सदस्य श्री रत्नाकर पांडेय ने आश्वासन दिया था कि वे इस मामले को संसद में उठाएंगे और संबद्ध विभागों से बात करेंगे। गोष्ठी में पत्रकार वेदप्रताप वैदिक, रामशरण जोशी, साहित्यकार श्री गंगा प्रसाद विमल, कमेंटटर श्री
जसदेव सिंह और रवि चतुर्वेदी ने भी भाग लिया था। इस क्रम में श्री हुक्मदेव नारायण यादव ने मामले को संसद में उठाया और गृह मंत्री को इस संबंध में पत्र लिखा । श्री हुक्म देव नारायण यादव की भूमिका बहुत महत्वपूर्ण रही और उन्होंने अन्य सदस्यों के साथ मिलकर दबाव बनाया ।
पत्र उपयुक्त कार्यवाही के लिए गृह राज्यमंत्री के पास आया जिन्होंने गोष्ठी में उठाए गए सभी मामलों को ना केवल अग्रसारित किया बल्कि राजभाषा विभाग की ओर से इस मामले में निर्देश जारी किए । गृहराज्यमंत्री औरगृहमंत्री द्वारा जारी पत्र की प्रतियां संलग्न है। इनके आधार पर इस
अभियान की आगे दिशा तय की जा सकती है।

आज इंदिरा गाँधी स्टेडियम में जिम्नास्टिक का टेस्ट इवेंट शुरू हुआ.हम बहुत तैयारी के साथ बैठे टीवी कमेंट्री करने ..सुरक्षा जांच वालो ने हमें पानी की बोतल नहीं लाने दी.हमारा सेब भी वापिस करवा दिया ,हमने कहा कोई नहीं ,मीडिया सेंटर में तो सब मिल ही जाएगा ,एक घंटा हुआ २ घंटे हुए. हम पानी वानी,चाय का इंतज़ार करते रहे ,पर वह न आया और न उसकी कोई खबर आई .कई घंटे लगातार बोलना फिर पानी नहीं मिलना,हमें तुरंत ईश्वर याद आ गए .उन्होंने भी बिना देर किये हमारी सुन ली ,और पानी बरसने लगा ,खूब बरसा ,अचानक मेरे मुह पर पानी की बूँद गिरी ,,उपर देखा तो छत से पानी की टप टप बूँद गिरने लगी.भगवान के घर देर है अंधेर नहीं.भगवान ने सीधा अपने घर से हमारे लिए supply भेज दी,सच में जय हो प्रभु .

एक बंदर स्टेडियम के अंदर

जी चौंकये नहीं,ये कोई हॉलीवुड की कोई हिंदी में डब की गयी फिल्म नहीं है
बल्कि राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों के टेस्ट इवेंट के एक नये प्रशंसक की बात है|हुआ यूँ कि नई दिल्ली के तालकटोरा स्टेडियम में इन दिनों तैराकी की फेडरेशन कप प्रतियोगिता चल रही है|
मैं बतौर कमेंटेटर आज अपना काम कर रही थी यानी कमेंट्री दे रही थी|अचानक स्टेडियम में सभी लोग कमेंट्री बॉक्स की ओर देखने लगे|वैसे तो दर्शकों में हम कमेंटेटरों को देखने की उत्सुकता होती है,लेकिन जब पूरा स्टेडियम ही आपकी ओर देखने लगे तो अजीब सा लगता है|फिर सामने के मॉनीटर में देखने से पता चला कि हमारा एक अत्यंत प्रशंसक स्टेडियम की सुरक्षा को धता बताते हुए बिना पास और टिकट के खिड़की के रास्ते स्टेडियम में आ भी गया है|सभी दर्शक राष्ट्रीय तैराकों के प्रदर्शन को छोड़ कर बंदर के मुरीद हो गये है|
और हमने भी ठंडी साँस ली क्योंकि दर्शकों का उत्साह हमारे लिये न होकर उस साहसी बंदर के लिये था जिसने दिल्ली पुलिस की सुरक्षा को कूद फाँद कर पार किया और वी.आई.पी. सीट को हथिया लिया

आजकल राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों की तैयारियों का जोर है.भारत और दिल्ली का जैसे विकास हो रहा है, उसे देखकर तो यही लगता है कि हम बहुत विकास कर रहें है, लेकिन दरअसल विकास ऊपरी सतह का ही है,बल्कि यह विकास कम पतन ज्यादा हो रहा है|हम आगे जाने की बजाय पीछे होते जा रहे है

और अगर बात हम पूरे भारत की करे तो हमारे राजनेताओ ने विदेशियो के साथ,अपने मुनाफे के लिए ऐसी सांठ-गांठ कर रखी है कि अपने देश में ही हमारे माल की कोई कीमत नहीं रह गई है, हमे न चाहते हुए भी विदेशियो का माल खरीदना पड़ रहा है और यह विदेशी इससे और ज्यादा तरक्की करते जा रहे है,हम ऊपरी तौर पर तो विकास कर रहे है लेकिन, हम अंदर से खोखले होते जा रहे है.......

और यह बात समझ में नहीं आती है कि विकास के नाम पर और आजकल राष्ट्रमंडल खेल के नाम पर जो बेइंतहा पैसे खर्चे जा रहे हैं, उसका फायदा कैसे उस आम जन को मिलेगा जोकि दो वक्त की रोटी का जुगाड़ करने में ही सारे खेलों की कलाबाजियाँ लगा रहा है अगर वह आप जनता का पेट भी न भर पाए और उनका विकास तो दूर उनके लिए सर छुपाने के भी लाले पड़ जाये.........

औरर अगर विकास का नाम बड़े-बड़े मॉल बनाकर, फ्लाईओवर बनाकर दिल्ली को पेरिस बनाना है तो इसका क्या फायदा है? वह विकास बेमायने है जो देश के केवल एक ही वर्ग को आगे बढ़ाये
यह सब देखकर तो भगत सिंह की वही बात रह-रह के याद आ रही है कि "आजादी के बाद अंग्रेज तो हमारा पीछा छोड़ देंगे, लेकिन देश के हरामखोर नेता और बड़े बड़े व्यवसायी आम इंसान का खून चूस लेंगे, गरीब और गरीब हो जायेगा और अमीर और अमीर हो जायेगा."

और देखा जाये तो आजकल हो भी यही रहा है.और इन जलेबी की तरह सीधे नेताओ की वजह से आगे होता भी यही रहेगा

Malaysia won the 7th edition of the Asian Youth Netball Championship with a 63-39 (16-07, 19-10, 14-13, 14-09) victory over Sri Lanka in the final on the last day of the competition at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex in New Delhi on Saturday. Sri Lanka, who surprised Singapore in the semi-final on Friday, could not produce a similar performance against the favourites.

Indian eves stumbled in the semi-final of the 7th Asian Youth Netball Championship with a 36-59 (07-14, 08-12, 09-17, 12-16) defeat to favourites Malaysia on Day 6 of the tournament at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex in New Delhi on Friday.

Malaysia will take on Sri Lanka in the final of the competition. The Sri Lankan eves caused a major upset when they beat Singapore 55-47 (14-13, 15-12, 13-11, 13-11) in the second semi-final. India will play Singapore in the 3/4th place playoff on the final day of the competition on Saturday.

In the earlier fixture, Hong Kong registered a narrow victory over Thailand in a thrilling contest. Hong Kong won 58-57 (13-11, 13-17, 13- 18, 19-11).

The 3/4th place playoff will start at 2.30 pm while the final match will begin at 4.30 pm IST.
Netball Federation of India President Mr Gurbir Singh, Asian Netball Association President Ms Anna Wong and Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games Organising Committee Secretary General Mr Lalit Bhanot will preside over the closing ceremony on Saturday, July 10.

जी हाँ दोस्तों, भारत की राजधानी दिल्ली में पानी की किल्लत और इन बढ़ते हुए शराब के ठेकों को देखकर तो ऐसा लगता है कि हमें अपने मेहमानों का स्वागत पानी से नहीं शराब से करना होगा......

जैसे जैसे कॉमनवेल्थ खेल नजदीक आते जा रहे है वैसे वैसे हमारी दिल्ली में पानी की किल्लत दिन-प्रतिदिन बढ़ती जा रही है
और यह किल्लत हो भी क्यों न जहाँ-जहाँ दिल्ली के इलाको में पानी भरपूर आता है, वहां पानी को बेदर्दी से बर्बाद किया जा रहा है. और जिन इलाकों में पानी कभी-कभी आता है, वहां के लोग पानी को देखकर ऐसे बौखला जाते है कि वे पानी भरना भूल कर पानी के लिए एक दूसरे का खून बहाने लगते हैंऔर इन सब के बीच पानी बेचारा नालियों में बह रहा होता है

एक ओर पानी की यह स्थिति है वहीं दूसरी ओर समाचार यह है कि हमारी दिल्ली की माननीया मुख्यमंत्री जी अब दिल्ली में शराब के ठेकों को और बढाने में लगी हुई है
पहले से ही दिल्ली में हर कोस के बाद इतने शराब के ठेके है, और इनके बढ़ जाने के बाद तो पूरी दिल्ली में पानी मिले न मिले लेकिन शराब जरूर मिला करेगी. और अगर जल्द ही इस पानी की किल्लत को दूर ना किया गया तो, कहीं ऐसा न हो कि पूरी दिल्ली शराब के नशे में हमारे मेहमानों का स्वागत करें
वैसे देखा जाये तो, हमें पानी मिले न मिले लेकिन हमारे मेहमानों को पानी जरुर मिल जायेगा. मगर गौर करने वाली बात यह है कि कहीं मेहमानों को पानी पीते देख दिल्ली वाले उनके पीछे ऑटोग्राफ लेने के लिए तो नहीं, बल्कि पानी छीनने के लिए उनके पीछे न भाग पड़े ..........

इसलिए माननीया मुख्यमंत्री जी सबक ले लीजिये और यह मान लीजिये कि दिल्ली वासियों की प्यास इन शराब के ठेकों से नहीं, बल्कि पानी से ही बुझेगी. और दिल्ली वालो को भी समझना चाहिए है कि पानी को बर्बाद होने से रोके, नहीं तो जल्द ही सब शराब से भरे जाम लेकर घूमेंगे और कहते फिरेंगे..

Sharath Kamal Achanta moved into the semi-finals of the ITTF Indian Open Pro Tour with a 8-11, 11-5, 11-7, 7-11, 11-8, 12-10 victory over Young Sik Jung of Korea on Day 4 at the Yamuna Sports Complex on Saturday. The top ranked Indian player in the circuit will now take on World No. 15 Dimitrij Ovtcharov of Germany in the semi-final at 12.00 pm IST on Sunday.

Sharath Kamal had earlier beaten Patrick Baum of Germany in a close contest (13-11, 11-13, 11-7, 8-11, 8-11, 11-5, 11-9) to advance into the quarter-finals. Ning Gao of Singapore defeated Belgian Jean-Michel Saive to set up the other semi-final clash with Hyun Deok Seo of Korea who beat Sang Su Lee, also of Korea.

Hosts India stumbled in the final against Philippines (12-34) to finish runners-up in the HSBC Five Nations Rugby Tournament (Division II) at the Delhi University grounds here on Saturday.

India, who defeated China 94-0 in their tournament opener, began impressively in the final with Surinder Singh scoring a try in the opening minutes of the match. However, Philippines bounced back with five straight penalties before Matt Saunders helped the visitors finish the first half on a high with a lead of 22-7.

Philippines continued their charge in the second half, adding 12 more points while India could only manage another try through Surinder Singh again.
As a result, Division II winners Philippines will be promoted to Division I while China, who finished fourth in the tournament after losing to Thailand, will be demoted to Division III.
Earlier, Thailand bagged third place in their playoff match against China with a convincing 56-3 victory in the first match of the final day of the tournament.

Hosts India kicked off the HSBC Asian Five Nation Rugby Tournament in style by beating China 94-0 in the first game at the Delhi University grounds here on Wednesday.
India opened the scoring with back to back penalties before Kayrus Unwala scored India’s first try. The Chinese were no match for a fitter Indian team, and the hosts made them pay by racing to 44-0 at the end of the first half.

Egged on by an enthusiastic crowd, India dominated the entire 80 minutes and never allowed the Chinese to gain momentum and come back in the match.
Kayrus Unwala, Rohaan Sethna and Parvinder Singh scored two tries each, with Gautam Dagar, Pritom Roy, Sandeep Singh and Puneet Krishnamoorty scoring one each.
India, ranked 84th in the world, humbled visitors China who are ranked much higher at No. 51. They would now take on the winners of the match between Thailand and Philippines on Saturday at the same venue.
Note: The HSBC Five Nation Rugby Tournament is a Division based tournament and is being held for the first time in India. Miho Kowase of Japan and Bowen Ouyang of China emerged winners in the girls and boys section respectively on the concluding day of the Asian Junior Tennis championships here at the RK Khanna Tennis complex on Sunday.

In the girls singles section, Miho the ninth seed in this tournament created a flutter when she overcame the challenge of second seed Ran Tian of China and won at 6-1 ,7-6(4) . In the Boys Singles Final it was an all Chinese affair and the match turned out to be a cliff hanger with second seed Bowen Ouyang ultimately clinching the tie in three sets by beating Chuhan Wang the top seed in this tournament, with scores being 6-1,3-6,6-2.

Second seed pair of Ronit Singh Bisht and Sai Kartik Nakireddi of India put up a spirited show but lost in the final of the boys’ doubles section to top seed Chinese pair of Xin Gao and Bowen Ouyang 6-7 (6), 3-6 on the penultimate day of the Asian Junior Tennis Championships at the RK Khanna Tennis Complex on Saturday.

In the girls doubles final, Japanese sixth seeds Eri Hozumi and Riko Sawayanagi upset top seeds Ran Tian and Lin Zhu of China to claim the title in straight sets at 7-5, 6-4.

भारत को जब से राष्ट्रमंडल खेलो की मेजबानी मिली है तब से लगातार शंकाओ की नाँव ऊहा-पोह के समुद्र में आलोचनाओ से जूझ रही है
बार बार यह कयास लगाए जा रहे हैं कि हम इसकी मेजबानी कर सकते है या नहीं? सवाल जितना आसान लगता है ,इसका जवाब उतना ही मुश्किल है
राष्ट्रमंडल खेल ओलम्पिक के बाद दूसरा बड़ा खेल उत्सव है
इसलिये जैसी अपेक्षाएँ ओलंपिक के साथ होती हैं वैसी ही राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों के साथ भी होती हैं
इसका आयोजन भी उतना ही सुव्यवस्थित , भव्य और नयनप्रिय होना चाहिए
इसके आयोजन पर सारे दुनिया की निगाहे लगी रहती है
इसमें कोई दो राय नहीं है कि हम किसी भी मुश्किल का सामना कर सकते है
राष्ट्रमंडल खेलो का आयोजन हम सफलतापूर्वक ज़रूर पूरा करेंगे पर फिर भी इसके सफलतापूर्वक आयोजन में कई बड़ी बाधाएँ सुरसा के समान मुहँ बाए खड़ी हैं

सबसे बड़ी जो चिंता है सभी मैदानों और सडकों का काम समय से पीछे चल रहा है
अगर मैदान ही तैयार नहीं होंगे तो खेल कहाँ होंगे ?पर जैसे किसी क्रिकेट मैच में शुरू से सब कुछ ठीक चल रहा होता है तो कोई किसी पर ध्यान नहीं देता किन्तु जैसे ही अंत में कम बॉल में ज्यादा रन बनाने होते है तो सभी की नज़रे उस बल्लेबाज़ पर जा टिकती है जो उस समय चौके छक्के मार कर टीम को जीत दिलाता है ठीक उसी तरह राष्ट्रमंडल खेलो की तैयारियाँ भी है,समय के दबाव के साथ सभी काम समय पर पूरा हो जाएँगे
कहते है न कि जो अंतिम गेंद पर छक्का मारे वही असली हीरो होता है
ठीक उसी तरह राष्ट्रमंडल खेलो की तैयारियाँ भी पूरी कर ली जाएंगी और सरकार वाह वाही लूट ले जाएगी हम भी यही आशा करते है की खेलो से पहले सभी काम पूरे हो जाएँ

दूसरी समस्या जो आलोचनाओ के घेरे में खड़ी है वह है दिल्ली का पर्यावरण! जगह जगह निर्माण कार्य होने के कारण हवा में धूल कण की मात्रा में बढ़ोतरी हो गई है जो एक भीषण समस्या है
खेलों से पहले दिल्ली में मानसून दस्तक देगा तो आशा की जा सकती है कि मानसून के पानी से पर्यावरण की समस्याएँ कुछ हद तक तो धुल ही जाएंगी,वह अलग बात है कि मानसून के आने के बाद गड्ढे और कीचड़ अपने आप में नयी समस्या बन जाएँगे

निर्माण कार्य के अधूरा होने के अतिरिक्त एक सामाजिक समस्या है वह है हमारी ,आपकी और दिल्ली पुलिस की भाषा! दिल्ली पुलिस की वाचिक शैली की प्रतिष्ठा जग जाहिर है
दिल्ली पुलिस के बात करने का तरीका किसी से छुपा नहीं है
खेलो में देश -विदेश के हजारों लोग इन खेलो का मज़ा लेने आएँगे तो यह जरुरी है कि हम अपने बात करने के ढंग में सुधार लाएँ

Top Indian seed Sai Kartik Nakireddi (No. 4) entered the quarter-final of the boys’ singles with a victory in straight sets over Chi-Shan Jao of Chinese Taipei on day four of the Asian Closed Junior Tennis Championship at RK Khanna Tennis Complex on Thursday.
Ronit Singh Bisht, seeded fifth in the event, also moved into the top eight with hard-fought victory over compatriot Shahbaaz Khan. Sixth seed Vaidik Munshaw, Rakshay Thakkar (No. 9) and Mansingh Athare also won their pre-quarterfinal clashes to stay in contention of the boys’ singles title.

Earlier, seventh seed Rishika Sunkara kept India’s challenge alive by entering the girls’ singles quarter-final. Sunkara prevailed over her Chinese opponent, 11th seed Zhaoxuan Yang with a 6-2, 7-5 victory.

Other Indian hopefuls in the girls’ singles, Ankita Raina (No. 14), Sharon Sanchana Paul (15), 10th seed Kyra Shroff, Adnya Naik and Natasha Palha all fell short of a quarter-final berth. The top five seeded girls have all secured their place in the last eight of the competition, which is a test event for the 2010 Commonwealth Games.

Fifth seed Ronit Bisht of India had little trouble in brushing aside the challenge of Jatinder Singh, also of India in straight sets in the boys’ singles first round on Day One of the Asian Junior Tennis Championship on Monday. Fourth seed Sai Karthik Nakireddy also moved into the second round, benefiting from a bye.

Other Indian players to have sailed into the second round include Saurabh Patil, Srikar Allah, Rishabdev Raman, Digvijay Singh Mehta, Sumeet Shinde, Jatin Dahiya, Chinmay Handa,Tarun Nath Surath and Garry Singh Amor.

Earlier, Seventh seed Rishika Sunkara moved ahead with ease into the second round of the girls’ singles event. Other Indians who have entered the second round of the girls’ section are - Nova Patel, Adnya Naik, Samrada Ballu, Anushka Bhargava, Prardhan G, Ashwariya Aggarwal, Abhilasha Ahuja and Sri Vaishnavi Pedde Reddy. जी हाँ दोस्तों, आपने कुछ महीनो से देखा होगा कि कैसे दिल्ली में राष्ट्रमंङल खेलो की तैयारी जोरो शोरो से हो रही है. हर कोई चाहे नेता हो, पुलिस हो, कामकाज करने वाला व्यक्ति हो या फिर मेरी तरह छात्र हो, सब किसी न किसी बहाने से इसकी तैयारी में लगे हुए है.

लेकिन आपने कभी सोचा है, इन सबसे दूर हमारे समाज का एक बहुत बड़ा वर्ग ऐसा है, जिसे इन राष्ट्रमंङल खेलो से कोई लेना देना नहीं है. उनको तो बस एक वक्त की रोटी मिल जाये, वे उसी में खुश है. उनके लिए यह तैयारी बेकार है. उन्हें कोई मतलब नहीं है कि दिल्ली सोने की तरह चमके , उनको तो बस सोने के लिए जगह चाहिए.

अब आप समझ ही गए होंगे कि मै किस वर्ग की बात कर रहा हूँ. जी हाँ मै गरीबी रेखा से नीचें रहने वाले उस वर्ग की बात कर रहा हूं जिसके लिए राष्ट्रमंङल खेल एक अपरिचित शब्द है.उन्हें तो बस इतना पता है कि पूरी दिल्ली किसी खास कार्यक्रम की तैयारी कर रही है जैसे चुनाव से पहले करती है..

वैसे अब आप सोचिये इन सब में हम अपने आप को कहां पाते है..हम उन्ही नेताओं, पुलिस , छाञ, और कामकाज करने वाले लोगो में से एक है जो एक और तो राष्ट्रमंङल खेलो के आयोजन से अपने को गौरवांवित महसूस कर रहे है किन्तु साथ ही दूसरी ओर राजधानी या देश में रहने वाले उन तमाम देशवासियों ,उन गरीबो के हित में भी सोच रहे है जिनके लिए खेल का मतलब पेट की आग बुझाना है .वही आम आदमी जो पहले इनके बारे में सोचते थे,अगर कुछ कर भी नहीं पाते थे तो उनके लिए आवाज जरुर उठाते थे. लेकिन राष्ट्रमंङल खेलो के आते ही, हम सब कुछ ऐसे भूल गए है,जेसे हमे इस गरीब वर्ग से कुछ लेना देना नहीं है.वे भूखे मरते है तो मरते रहे, हमे तो बस अपनी दिल्ली को सोने की तरह से राष्ट्रमंङलखेलो के लिए सजाना है.ताकि बाहर से आने वाले विदेशियों को हमारी दिल्ली इतनी सुंदर लगें कि वे यहाँ बार बार आये. मगर हम यह भूल जाते है जब तक हमारी दिल्ली के गरीबो की शान नहीं बढेगी, तब तक दिल्ली की शान नहीं बढेगी. फिर हम चाहे उपर से कितना ही दिखावा क्यों न कर ले.

और तो और सुचना का आधिकार कानून के तहत एक रिपोर्ट सामने आई है कि गरीब वर्ग की मदद के लिए रखे गए करोडो रुपयों को सरकार राष्ट्रमंङल खेलो में लगा रही है, क्योकि सरकार का बजट राष्ट्रमंडल खेलो के लिए तय किय गए बजट से उपर चला गया है. इससे तो यह साफ जाहिर है सरकार को इन गरीबो की भूख और रहन- सहन से कोई लेना देना नहीं है. इन्हें तो बस अपनी इज्जत के लिए दिल्ली को सवारना है.

राष्ट्रमंडल खेलो की तैयारी करना अच्छी बात है, क्योकि ऐसे मौके बार बार नहीं मिलते. लेकिन इन सब के बीच हम उन लोगो को केसे भूल सकते है जो हमारे समाज और दिल्ली का एक महत्वपूर्णःहिस्सा है. इसलिए हमारी और सरकार की यह जिम्मेदारी है कि हम एक कर्तव्य को पूरा करने के लिए दुसरे कर्तव्य को न भूले

The Asian Closed Junior Tennis Tournament will be held at the RK Khanna Tennis Complex from May 22 to 30, 2010. The tournament is being organized by the All India Tennis Association and is a Test Event for the 2010 Commonwealth Games.

Media representatives must note that media parking has been allotted at Hauz Khas Sports Complex.

The media entry into the RK Khanna Tennis complex will be from Gate No. 6 on 1 Africa Avenue. Drop-off point for media is also at the same gate. The Venue Media Centre (VMC) is located just 30 metres from the entry gate.

India held third in the Greco Roman team championship at the Senior Asian Wrestling Championship

In a competition that had all the Asian heavyweights, hosts India held on to the third position in the Greco Roman team championship at the Senior Asian Wrestling Championship that came to a close at the Wrestling Stadium of the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium on Sunday. India were level on points with China who got the second position by virtue of their lone gold medal in the 60 kilogram category. Korea topped the team championship in this category with four gold medals.

Three-time Commmonwealth Championship gold medalist Ravinder Singh won bronze medal in the 60 kilogram category on Day 5, the final day of the championship beating Beishalev Azis of Kyrgyzstan 3-1, 0-1, 3-0.

However, Sanjay and Ashok Kumar lost out on a bronze medal in the 74 and 96 kilogram categories respectively. Thirty-year-old Sanjay has been a seven-time National gold medalist and won silver medal at the 2005 and 2008 Commonwealth Championships. Ashok, on the other hand, has silver and gold medals to his name in the 2007 and 2009 Commonwealth Championships respectively and is also the current national champion.

In the overall team championship in Freestyle Wrestling, India stood fifth with Iran topping the table followed by Kazakhstan and Korea.

India were placed fifth in Female Wrestling as well, with China grabbing the top spot and Japan finishing second.

Senior Asian Free Style, Greco Roman Style and Female Wrestling Championship kick starts from 12th May 20108 May 2010, New Delhi: Senior Asian Free Style, Greco Roman Style and Female Wrestling Championship is being held at Wrestling Stadium, Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, New Delhi from 12th to 16th May 2010. This is also a Test Event for the wrestling competition of Commonwealth Games 2010.

The event is one of the major tournaments of FILA in which top wrestlers from 21 countries will be vying with one another to grab a medal for their country. Wrestling is very strong in Asia and a very high level of competition is expected.

The 21 countries include all major wrestling Nations like Iran, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Japan, Korea, DPR Korea, China & Magnolia.

The participants include number of medal winners of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games & 2009 Senior World Wrestling Championship held in Denmark.

The FILA President Mr. Raphael Martinetti along with a large number of FILA Office bearers namely Mr. Saletnig Mario, Vice President, FILA, & FILA Bureau Members, Mr. Kim Ik Jong, Dr. Mohammed Tavakol, Mr. Stephen Kazarian, Mr. Daulet Turlykhanov & AAWC President, Mr. Chang Kew Kim are going to supervise the event.

CommonWealth Games is one of the biggest ever multi-sports event not only in India but in Asia as a whole.According to the officials evaluations, 2 million foreign tourists and 3.5 million domestic tourists are likely to arrive in 2010 because of the games. Among all the wonderfull tourists destinations – “ the garden of five senses ”cannot be left out.

The Garden of Five Senses is truely a paradise for nature lover as it serves all the possible senses of human being, one can see, hear, smell, touch and taste the nature around one self. The garden is located at Said-ul-Aizad village, close to the Mehrauli heritage area in New Delhi ( and its very nearby to Qutub Minar ).

The garden has many unique features which makes it different from other parks. It is an intricate blend of natures bounty and subtle human creation. Among the main attractions are the Khas Bhag – designed on the pattern of the mughal gardens with modern canals, shrubs and water bodies to bisect the medians, the Neel Bagh – a pool of water lilies covered with a dome like structured and has different aquatic structures. Further attractions are the color gardens and court of specimen plants and the numerous wind chimes add to the ambience of the surrounding. One also cannot miss out the twenty five different sculptures and murals by the popular craftsmen.

अब तक अलग-अलग नामो के अंतर्गत 18 राष्ट्रमंडल खेल हो चुके हैं इन खेलो में देशो की संख्या 11 से बढ़कर अधिकतम 72 तक पहुँच चुकी है
इंग्लैण्ड ही एकमात्र ऐसा देश है जो शुरू से अब तक प्रत्येक खेल मे पदक तालिका में प्रथम तीन में शामिल रहा है
इसमें भी एक साल 1994 को छोड़ सभी वर्ष इंगलैण्ड प्रथम दो जगह बनाने में कामयाब रहा है
और जहाँ तक बात सबसे ज्यादा पदक हासिल करने वाले देश की है तो यह गौरव ऑस्ट्रेलिया को प्राप्त है
वह प्रथम राष्ट्रमंडल खेलो में पांचवे स्थान पर रहा था परन्तु उसके बाद वह भी प्रत्येक राष्ट्रमंडल खेल में प्रथम तीन पर काबिज़ रहा है

अभी तक के हुए राष्ट्रमंडल खेलो में क्रिकेट को केवल एक बार 1998 क्वालालंपुर मलेशिया के खेलो में शामिल किया गया है जिसमे दक्षिण अफ्रीका ने ऑस्ट्रेलिया को 4 विकेट से हरा कर स्वर्ण पर कब्ज़ा किया था वहीँ न्यूज़ीलैंड ने कांस्य पदक प्राप्त किया था

जंतर मंतर
जंतर मंतर दिल्ली के कनाट प्लेस में स्थित है, इसका निर्माण खगोल शास्त्र प्रेमी सवाई राजा जय सिंह द्वितीय ने १७२४ में करवाया था

इसको बनवाने में ६ साल लग गए थे. यह इमारत प्राचीन भारत की वैज्ञानिक उन्नति की मिसाल है, जय सिंह ने ऐसी वेधशालाओं का निर्माण जयपुर, उज्जैन , मथुरा, और वाराणसी में भी किया था. दिल्ली का जंतर मंतर समरकंद की वेधशाला से प्रेरित है. मोहम्मद शाह के शासन काल में हिन्दू और मुस्लिम खगोलशास्त्रियों में ग्रहों की स्थिति को लेकर बहस छिड़ गई थी. इसी को ख़त्म करने के लिए सवाई जय सिंह ने जंतर मंतर का निर्माण करवाया था. ग्रहों की गति नापने के लिए यहाँ विभिन्न प्रकार के उपकरण लगाये गए हैं.1948 में इसे राष्ट्रीय स्मारक का दर्जा मिला

सूर्ये की सहायता से वक़्त और ग्रहो की स्थिति की जानकारी देता है.

मिश्र यंत्र : -

वर्ष के सबसे छोटे और सबसे बड़े दिन को नाप सकता है.

राम यंत्र और जय प्रकाश यंत्र : -

यह यंत्र खगोलीय पिंडो की गति के बारे में बताते है. राम यंत्र गोलाकार बने हुए है.

राजा जय सिंह तथा उनके राज ज्योतिषी पं० जगन्नाथ ने इसी विषय पर " यंत्र प्रकार " तथा " सम्राट सिद्धांत" नामक ग्रन्थ लिखे. ५४ वर्ष की आयु में उनकी मृत्यु के बाद देश में ये वेधशालाएँ बाद में बनने वाले तारामंडलो के लिए प्रेरणा और जानकारी के स्त्रोत बनी. हाल ही में दिल्ली के जंतर मंतर में स्थापित रामयंत्र के जरिये प्रमुख खगोलविद द्वारा विज्ञान दिवस पर आसमान के सबसे चमकीले ग्रह शुक्र की स्थिति नापी गयी थी. इस अध्ययन में नेहरु तारामंडल के खगोलविदों के अलावा एमेच्योर एस्त्रोनाम्र्स एसोसिएशन और गैर सरकारी संगठन स्पेस के सदस्य भी शामिल थे..

बड़ी बड़ी इमारतों से घिर जाने के कारण आज इनके अधययन सटीक नतीजे नहीं दे पाते है. यह दिल्ली में जन आंदोलनों प्रदर्शनो, धरनों की एक जानी मानी जगह भी है.....

THREATENING OF TERROR OVER COMMONWEALTH GAMES 2010

Commonwealth Games 2010 facing trouble due to the clouds of possible terror attacks. The fresh notice issues to the Indian Government of possible terror attacks during the Commonwealth Games by the US and Australian government.The recent bomb blast in Bangalore before the IPL match has also a ign of the possibilities of such mishaps.
Let's see what the commissioner of police and Honorable CM of Delhi said over it :---

With the Commonwealth Games right around the corner the Delhi Police is not taking any chances. Recently Delhi Police Commissioner YS Dadwal had claimed that ''they are fully capable of handling any sort of situation.There would be no compromise on such matters and we assure an absolutely safe sporting event. There is no compromise on security issues. We want the Games to be held without any hitch."

Mrs.Sheila dikshit CM of Delhi said that "Nobody’s life will come to a standstill. And certainly, no panic should be there. Of course, the police, the Home Ministry and the Lt Governor are doing their best

भारत में क्रिकेट किसी खेल की तरह रहे और अंग्रेजी किसी भाषा की तरह तो किसी को कोई आपत्ति क्यों होगी ? डॉ.वैदिक

•अंग्रेजों के लिए अंग्रेजी उनकी सिर्फ मातृभाषा और राष्ट्रभाषा है लेकिन

‘भद्र भारतीयों’ के लिए यह उनकी पितृभाषा, राष्ट्रभाषा, प्रतिष्ठा-भाषा,

वर्चस्व-भाषा और वर्ग-भाषा बन गई है। अंग्रेजी और क्रिकेट हमारी गुलामी

की निरंतरता के प्रतीक हैं।

•जैसे अंग्रेजी भारत की आम जनता को ठगने का सबसे बड़ा साधन है, वैसे ही

क्रिकेट खेलों में ठगी का बादशाह बन गया है।

•जैसे अंग्रेजी माध्यम के स्कूलों में भोले लोग अपने बच्चों को अपना पेट

काटकर पढ़ाते हैं, वैसे ही लोग क्रिकेट-मैचों के टिकिट खरीदते हैं, टीवी

से चिपके बैठे रहते हैं और खिलाड़ियों को देवताओं का दर्जा दे देते हैं।

•हमारे नेता जैसे अंग्रेजी की गुलामी करते हैं, वैसे ही वे क्रिकेट के

पीछे पगलाए रहते हैं। अब देश में कोई राममनोहर लोहिया तो है नहीं, जो

गुलामी के इन दोनों प्रतीकों को खुली चुनौती दे।

•भारत में क्रिकेट किसी खेल की तरह रहे और अंग्रेजी किसी भाषा की तरह तो

किसी को कोई आपत्ति क्यों होगी ? लेकिन खेल और भाषा यदि आजाद भारत की

औपनिवेशिक बेड़ियाँ बनी रहें तो उन्हें फिलहाल तोड़ना या तगड़ा झटका देना

ही बेहतर होगा।

स्क्वैश(SQUASH) को 1998 में राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों में शामिल किया गया था उसके बाद से ही यह खेल राष्ट्रमंडल के मुख्य खेलों में शामिल है
स्क्वैश को पहले स्क्वैश रैकेट कहा जाता था
19 वीं शताब्दी में लन्दन के हैरो स्कूल में इस खेल का जन्म हुआ था
1860 में इस खेल का पहला कोर्ट हैरो(Harrow) इंग्लैण्ड में ही बना था
यह चार दीवारी में खेले जाने वाला खेल है जिसे एक समय में एकल स्पर्धा में दो और युगल स्पर्धा में चार व्यक्ति खेलते हैं
इसके कोर्ट की लम्बाई 32 फीट जबकि चौड़ाई 21 फीट होती है
इस खेल को रैकेट और एक छोटी रबर की बॉल के साथ खेलते हैं जिसमे बॉल का व्यास 39.5 से 40.5 मिलीमीटर और वज़न 23 से 25 ग्राम तक होता है
जबकि रैकेट की अधिकतम लम्बाई 686 मिलीमीटर (27.0 इंच) चौड़ाई 215 मिलीमीटर (8.5 इंच) और तारों वाले हिस्से का अधिकतम क्षेत्रफल 550 स्कवायर सेंटी मीटर होना चाहिए
इसके साथ ही वज़न 255 ग्राम से अधिक नहीं होना चाहिए परन्तु ज्यादातर खिलाडियों के रैकेट का वज़न 110 से 200 का ही होता है
अभी तक के हुए राष्ट्रमंडल खेलो में इस खेल की पदक की रेस में ऑस्ट्रेलिया 22 पदकों(6 स्वर्ण 7 रजत 9 कांस्य) के साथ सबसे आगे चल रहा है वहीँ भारत ने अभी तक केवल 2002 के पुरुष सिंगल में भाग लिया है
भारत को अभी अपने पहले पदक का इन्तजार है

यहाँ होने वाले खेलों में स्क्वैश को पुरुष-एकल,महिला-एकल, पुरुष-युगल,महिला युगल और मिश्रित युगल के अंतर्गत खेला जाएगा यह सभी प्रतियोगिताएँ 4 से 13 अक्टूबर को दिल्ली के सीरी फोर्ट स्पोर्ट कॉंम्प्लेक्स में खेली जाएंगी

सफदरजंग का मकबरा

सफदरजंग का मकबरा नई दिल्ली के सफदरजंग हवाई अड्डे में स्थित है. अवध वंश के नवाब को सफदरजंग के रूप में जाना जाता था. सफदरजंग का मकबरा पिता नवाब द्वारा बनाया गया था. सफदरजंग का मकबरा भारत में बेहतरीन वास्तुकला के उदहारणों में से एक है. सफदरजंग फारस के प्रांत में पैदा हुआ था और १७२२ में सफदरजंग भारत आ गए थे. कहा जाता है कि सफदरजंग के मामा जी और सआदत खान ने मिलकर सफदरजंग के पिता के सिंहासन पर कब्ज़ा कर लिया था. इसके बाद सफदरजंग ने नादिरशाह को पैसे देकर अपने पिता का सिंहासन वापस लिया.

बाद में मुग़ल बादशाह मुहम्मद शाह ने उनके सम्मान में यह कही थी कि " सफदरजंग ने कुशल प्रशासनिक क्षमता के साथ महान अवध के प्रशासन को संभाल कर रखा.सफदरजंग ने मुहम्मद शाह को बहुमूल्य और आर्थिक सहायता प्रदान की थी. जब अहमदशाह बहादुर दिल्ली के सिंहासन पर चढा तो सफदरजंग ममालिक-य-हिंदुस्तान मुख्यमंत्री था.

सफदरजंग का मकबरा हिंदुस्तान की वजीर स्मृति का स्मरण करने के लिए बनाया गया था. यह एक केंद्र में स्थित है और इसका एक विशाल गुबंद है. इसकी चार-चार इमारते है, जो पानी की नहरों से लिप्त है. नहरों के प्रवेश द्वार को सुशोभ्नता से सजाया गया है. और कोनों में जो टावर है, वह अष्टकोण है और प्रत्येक पशु की कब्र के साथ आयताकार तालाब है.
